 Pros and Cons

Pros:

Most people seem to agree that the Stork Craft Tuscany Convertible Crib provides very good value for money. They were pleased with the way it looks and say it looks as good as cribs costing $300 and up.

Assembly can be done by one person if they know what they’re doing. However, it is much easier with 2 people – should take roughly an hour.

People were pleased with the way all the pieces fit together, resulting in a strong sturdy crib.

Another popular feature is the fact that the instructions are permanently fixed to the crib, so there is never any fear of trying to find them again from that “safe place” where you put them .

Cons:

In a perfect world, no-one would have any cause to complain. But we don’t live in a perfect world and things can and will go wrong.

The biggest thing seems to have been goods being damaged and parts missing / incorrect on delivery. Yes this is frustrating and folks will become ticked off. But these occurrences are rare and you can be confident when you order as you have the backing of Amazon behind you.

Baby Crib Safety

The folks at Stork Craft work continuously to make sure their cribs and other products meet or exceed the standards set by the JPMA (Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association). Stork Craft is proud to be completely JPMA certified.

To help you in your choice, I have included a list of safety features to be aware of, courtesy of the JPMA.

• Always place your baby on his or her back to sleep-for naps and at night.
• NEVER place the crib near windows, draperies, blinds or wall mounted decorative accessories with long cords.
• Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines on the appropriate weight and size of babies who can safely use the crib.
• Make sure there are no missing, loose, broken or improperly installed screws, brackets or other hardware on the crib or the mattress support. Check the stability and hardware on the crib often.
• Crib slats or spindles should be spaced no more than 2 3/8” apart, and none should be loose or missing.
• Never use a crib with corner posts over 1/16 of an inch above the end panels (unless they’re over 16” high for a canopy). Babies can strangle if their clothes become caught on corner posts. These should be unscrewed or sawed off, and the remaining end panel should be sanded smooth.
• The crib mattress should fit snugly with no more than two fingers width between the edge of the mattress and the crib side. Otherwise, baby can get trapped between the mattress and the side of the crib.
• No cutout areas on the headboard or footboard so baby’s head cannot get trapped.
• No cracked or peeling paint.
• No splinters or rough edges.
• Look for the JPMA Certification Seal.

Special time – set aside a regular time to read to or with your children every day. Research studies show that reading aloud regularly with your little ones will produce significant gains in reading comprehension, vocabulary and the decoding of words.

Provide what they need – surround your kids with reading material whether bought or borrowed from friends or the local library. Handmade Baby Shower Items
These are the items that I made for my Daughters Baby Shower. She is expecting a Sweet Baby Girl!! All the items were made either from or using scrapbooking paper and or Cricut cartridges. The color scheme for the Shower was Pink and Lime green which at times were very hard to find.

Pros & Cons

Pros:
It seems that the number one thing moms like most about the Mini Co-sleeper is the fact that it makes breast-feeding much more comfortable. It’s also a lot easier because they don’t have to get out of bed which is great when you are waking up every two hours to feed.

Another popular feature is the fact that it’s portable. It detaches easily from the bed and can be rolled easily between rooms as it is small enough to fit through a standard doorway.

It’s also easy to change from a lowered side (which is where you would have it fixed to your bed) to a regular bassinet. Apparently it can be a little tricky figuring this out first time around but is really easy once you get the hang of it.

It’s also nice to know that used Mini Co-sleepers in good condition sell quite easily online. So once it has outlived its usefulness you should still be able to get a good price for it.

Cons:

As with pretty much anything, if you look you will find some negative reactions. Perhaps the main complaint is that they don’t last long due to the fact that your baby will outgrow it fairly quickly (don’t forget this is a MINI co-sleeper!). So don’t buy this if you expect to get long-term use out of it, it is after all designed for newborns.

Another complaint I found was that it was difficult to use for moms who had undergone a C-section. Many found it harder to sit up and twist around to pick up their baby and found it easier to actually get out of bed. But I think this will depend on the individual, as I found at least one person who had no problems at all after C-section.

Someone else found that the sheets were a very tight fit and after washing they couldn’t get them to fit. Maybe they didn’t follow the washing instructions? In any case extra sheets are readily available.

Conclusion

If you appreciate the fact that the Arm’s Reach Mini Co-Sleeper Bassinet isn’t a long-term solution but is meant to make feeding easier and develop a bond between you and your child, then this should prove to be an excellent purchase.
